About Massage:
Deep Tissue (Myofascial Release)
Works directly on the fascia which surrounds the muscles and organs in the body involving very slow, deep strokes. Myofascial massage literally melts the fascia surrounding the muscles, lengthens and spreads it out, so that the muscles can then have room to breathe and move comfortably. We suggest this type of massage for people who have any chronic injuries, daily pain from work/postural stress, or stiffness or soreness. Myofascial release cannot be performed on patients with systemic infections or inflammation (i.e. arthritis). It is contraindicated for patients with chronic illnesses.
Relaxation (Swedish)
Promotes circulation, and aids in restoring breath to a deeper, fuller, relaxed state. This massage is excellent for clients who need a break.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is literally translated to "finger pressure" and involves compression along specific body meridians to restore balance in the overall system. It is based on the Japanese Five-Element Theory of bodily health. Shiatsu combines massage and energy healing to create a very long lasting and healing result. Clients should come dressed in comfortable clothing.
Thai Massage
A highly relaxing compression and stretching massage. By incorporating yoga poses, as well as specific meridian finger pressure, Thai massage brings the flow of qi in the body back to a more natural flow, and will promotes flexibility. Thai massage is best suited to those accustomed to deep stretches, who are active, and relatively bodily healthy, although the massage can be adjusted to suit any and all people.
